Notes: | NB122 P165: [36-7 – A-RR] In clearing the surface of the rock a cutting was found thickly pasted with miniature vases and sherds and a few figurines. The sherds range from Cor. 6th c to 5th c fugitive glaze and imitation of Attic. The min. vases include the usual types, also a very low handled kalathos, a tiny aryballos, and an amphora. All these sherds collected. N.E well. NB122 P167: 2) [A-RR 36] The rock cutting noted yesterday averages .35m in depth, and extends W 3.25 m; and the whole area is closely filled with sherds and miniature vases and figurines, as yesterday (N-E well). Also found in this deposit, right toe from votive foot (De Waele no. 58), and another frag. perhaps from arm (DW no 59). 2 baskets of sherds, and 2 boxes of vases, figurines, etc., collected. At the south west corner of the roughly rectangular cutting is a circular pit, also yielding many sherds. (Well 1931-10) NB122 P168: Miniature Deposit: Two frags of 6th c. lamp (De Waele no. 21, CL 2463), with broad rim and pointed centre; and another lamp frag (DW no 22, CL 2461). From the circular pit (Well 1931-10), half of a large cothon, and a skyphos of late Orientalizing style, half complete. Also sherds, miniature vases, and a few figurines, as before (for Inv. Nos. see p. 199) | |
