I began excavation of grid area 88-100/ΝΓ-ΠΗ, section G on plan #217, using 1-4 workmen, with notebook #231 for finds and notebook #223 for coins. Levelling points have been established as follows: A on wooden post at Ο-ΟΑ/118 +88.659; B on wooden post at ΠΕ/118, +88.659; C on wooden post at ΠΘ/131 +88.659; D on wooden post at ΠΘ/100 +85.194; E on westernmost block of beam course, S wall of inner rectangle of S. Basilica +84.812; T-1 ΡΕ/113 +87.844; T-3 ΟΓ/113 +87.505; T-8 ΟΔ/94 +87.160. I began clearing the modern surface of a small triangular area at Π-ΠΕ/96-100, the surface lying at a level of approx. +86.894.
