Notes: | April 26 (p. 46) From level +73.654 the well is cut through clay (previously through conglomerate). The shaft at this point has an oval shape, with diameters of 1.03 and .92 m. We changed to Basket #3 at this level. April 27 (p. 50) In well Ρ-ΡΑ/99 we continued with Basket #3 of April 26. At approx. +73.294 we began finding pottery again; We struck water at +72.674. At the end of the day we discovered a large wooden vessel [AG-later identified as part of musical instrument]. April 28 (p. 58-59) In well Ρ-ΡΑ/99 we continued with Basket #3 of April 26. [Finds stamp.] At +72.164 we struck rock-bottom. This well, first opened on April 17, has a shaft 12.26 m deep from the top of its highest stone. The shaft is built of stone down to +82.274, from which level it is cut through conglomerate. At +73.544 it widens out in all directions, narrowing again at +73.294. There is a thin layer of gravel here. From +73.294 to bottom, the shaft is cut through hard clay. The diameter is .55 at the top, .90 at the bottom. At intervals of .40 m (approx.) steps are cut on the north and south, the whole depth of the shaft. | |
