In the new trench at ΟΒ-ΟΣΤ/100-93 we removed the remaining fill above the layer of ash at +86.184, continuing with Basket #1 of May 2. [Finds stamp.]
Using Basket #2 we began digging below this level. [Finds stamp.]
This fill contained a large quantity of ash, rock, and tile fragments. At ΟΖ-ΟΣΤ/97-96 we found a small strosis of dirt and plaster at +85.874. We also discovered two more walls, #20 and #21. Walls #20 and #21, like Wall #17, run north and south from Wall #4. Wall #17 cuts through Wall #4; Wall #20 at ΟΔ-ΟΕ/97-96 is built against the east face of Wall #17; Wall #21, which appears to be bonded into Wall #4, runs along the east face of Wall #20 at 96-97/ΟΕ-ΟΣΤ.
May 4 (p. 70)
In trench ΟΣΤ-ΟΒ/100-93 we continued with Basket #2 of May 3. In this fill we uncovered Room #8, which is bounded on the north by Wall #22, on the south by Wall #23, and on the east by Wall #20. Wall #23, which continues the line of Wall #14 westward, appears to be the western return of Wall #20. [Finds stamp.]
Wall #17 cuts across both Wall #22 and Wall #23.
May 5 (p. 71)
In Room #8 we continued with Basket #2 of May 3.
May 6 (p. 74)
In Room #8 we continued with Basket #2 of May 3.
