| Notes: | Scattered bits of charcoal, marl chunks, decomposed building material (i.e. mudbrick), bronze slag, and a large limestone piece (ca. 20 cm. long) were found and may be related to destruction debris. In the S part of Basket 48 was a dense layer of tiles near wall 215 and may be evidence of destruction debris (cf. Hellenistic debris dating from 3-2 c. BCE in NB 977, B46, 48, 49, 52, 54, and 55). We are leaving the tiles in situ with the hope of uncovering a complete destruction deposit across the area. In the N part of Basket 48 is a higher concentration of painted plaster. We stopped this basket due to a soil change. | |
