Area:   Panaghia north

Date:   2006/06/06
Stratum:   Soil is light reddish brown thin clay, 40% pebbles, 15% cobbles, weakly cemented.
Notes:   B 84 is a layer of hard clay to the south of the area between walls 215 R and 265 and west of Wall 284. This area has less pebbles than the surrounding B 83 and sits on top of the rockier strata exposed by B 83. The hard clay patch runs into wall 265 and we will take care as we approach that wall to watch for a foundation trench for that wall. The hard layer has every appearance of a floor. As we come to wall 265, the character of the soil remains the same, and this layer does not contain a foundation trench for the wall. Top plan pg. 175.
