Stratum:   rubble fill of foundation construction
Notes:   B63 is the continuation of the removal of the rubble fill within the foundation construction built into the E side of the cister. The deposit has the same matrix as that of B62 above it. The deposit continues to be lined waith large stones on its west edge, which are being removed along with the fill. Note: the starting elevation of NB 975 B47, a deposit very rich in botanical remains in the W side of the cistern and continuing under the beam into the Eside, was 90.53. The top elevation of B63 is obviously lower and the foundation fill is continuing, possibly down to the floor of the cistern. Indeed the bottom of the cistern was achieved in this basket, without changes some places, though there is a patch of a film of darker soil with flecks of carbon. The larger boulder has been left in place in the NW corner of B63, due to the logistics of removing it, but it seems likely that the dark skin on the floor of the cistern continues underneath it.
