Stratum:   Fill between the pipe trench and Wall 296, light brownish brown, very soft, 10-20% fine pebbles-cobbles, poorly sorted coarse sand.
Notes:   B63 is a general pass across the W side of the trench (between the pipe trench and Wall 296). The earth is rocky wth numerous cobbles, not terribly different from that of B42 above, and appears to be the same as the undug earth on the E side of the trench (below B43). At the bottom of B63 a small area of reddish brown earth appeared to the S of the tile feature; a small area of earth with a very high cobble concentration appeared to the immediate W of the reddish brown. It is unclear as to whether the cobbly area is related to the tile feature; it will be dug seperately as B64. At B63's bottom, another block has appeared in the NW corner. It is aligned with and to the immediate E of the first block found here in B53, forming what looks to be an E-W wall.
