Stratum:   Cleaning fill over and around possible grave. Light brown silty sand, less than 10% small cobbles as inclusions.
Notes:   On Monday (5/6/2006) we saw some bones at the N edge of 977. We opened a new basket today to see if there are graves to the north. Tasos Kakouros is excavating.
After peeling off a few centimeters of fill from the very top, a patch of cobbly earth appeared with noticably softer soil. To the east was a soft fill without such large stones. We exposed the whole area to one level and closed the basket so as to investigate further these new features.
