Stratum:   Compacted fill stuck to the tops of N-S wall. Strongly cemented reddish brown silty sand with 5% large pebbles, rich in pottery.
Notes:   We removed a narrow strip of compacted slightly ashy fill clinging to the tops of the SW line of stones (the N-S wall). It was left by tracing B 61's gravelly red fill, being cut by B 61. The stones appeared immediately below. This may be a clay-earth beaten floor surface built on top at the lower stone walls, perhaps in a secondary use phase. Patches of it cropped up to the east too (B 62).
