Notes:   This basket begins excavationg the area underneath the stairs in cistern 2006-01. Photographs were taken before excavating the basket and recorded on notebook page 169 (photo numbers: JPG-2007-0171, JPG-2007-0172). The soil was very fine but otherwise very similar to that in the remainder of the cistern. For sketch of general area including basket 93 see notebook page 168. All of the soil under the stairs was excavated in one basket and thus there is a great difference in top and bottom elevations of this basket. The soil was rather sterile except for a few pottery sherds, bone, an iron nail and a few cobble sized stones. All soil was dry sieved except for one bag of soil collected for water sieving. This basket aso revealed that the underside of the stairs does not seem ot have been cement plastered like the top and sides of the stairs.
