Corinth Basket: NB983 B21 P50
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   NB983 B21 P50
Area:   Panaghia north
Category:   Basket/zembil
Notebook:   983
Context:   21
Page:   50
Date:   2006/06/09
Stratum:   Cobbly fill
Notes:   The matrix of this basket is dark brown sandy silt, compact, with 35% cobbles. B21 is the removal of the cobbly blob that is located between pit 2006-3 and pit (B's 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). After a few small passes the top of the block that was visible in the N scarp of pit 2006-3 is uncovered. It is not clear if this is one block all the way together with what was uncovered in B1, of if they actually split. The material is very friable and it is hard to define a cut at this point. On the same level with the block of B16, a softer layer of cobbles is identified on the S scarp of the pit (B's 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) and it is isolated from the rest of the cobbly fill. A slight color change is noted in the rest of the fill which also contains more roof tile fragments. The basket is stopped here arbitrarily because of the slight change in the matrix but also because of the depth that has been reached.
