Stratum:   Fill. Soil is light whitish brown sandy clay with 40% pebbles, 35% cobbles, compact.
Notes:   B 22 is a shelf of fill left because we though the soil cut away to the west, but after taking a pass in B 21, we saw that this cut was artificial and thus we excavate this overlying shelf.
A pass in B 22 starts yieling what appears to be neolithic or EH handmade pottery. This is especially interesting as the cut into the virgin pebbly layer to the east (see B 12 area) is now more distinct and turns two corners, one where we have removed a patch of B1 and another to the south by W 265. Though it is too early to tell, this has every appearance of the easter end of a grave cut which would make sense as we are in line with the latitude of the geometric sarcophagus to the west of the road as excavated by Angela earlier this year.
In order to explore this cut further, however, we need to remove the majority of later building activities and fills to the west of our area. Now exposed, the clay patch we have been referring to as a floor seems too uneven. This surface does not run with any regularity, and will be removed along with any other later layers beneath it. Top plan pg. 39.
