Stratum:   Mixed strata of B2 and B3. Light yellowish brown, weakly cemented, coarse grain with 20% inclusions, medium pebbles to cobbles very poorly sorted. Clayey sand.
Notes:   Basket 1 initially set out to define the area laid out by NB 982 baskets 96 and 97 where a compact soil surface and large inclusions of tile and pottery were revealed. The basket was halted when it was noted that the tiles continued underneath the hard compact surface so that we could removed the tile and rock inclusions separately from the hard compact soil. This basket has mixed strata including both the compact soil lay er and the layer with the rock and tile inclusions. After this basket we realized that the strata with tile inclusions sloped down from the west to the east. The hard packed surface lay over parts of the tile surface at points and also abutted in other locations.
