Name:   NB986 B5 P22
Area:   Panaghia north
Category:   Basket/zembil
Notebook:   986
Context:   5
Page:   22
Date:   2007/04/23
Stratum:   Fill, dark, reddish-brown, weakly cemented, 15% inclusions, moderately sorted, pebbles and cobbles
Notes:   Removal of reddish layer first revealed in basket 3. We discovered one coin in this basket as well as a small amount of what is likely bone. This bone material is perhaps a vestige of the remains from previously excavated burials in the area. We also uncovered a fair amount of pottery and a small amount of wall plaster. In addition, we uncovered what appears to be a roughly worked stone that is no longer in situ. The basket was stopped when a blackish layer (basket 7) and a whiteish layer were revealed. It appeared as though the the black layer was the latest of the three, and so it will be excavated as basket 7. The whiteish layer appears to pass under a newly revealed, slightly darker layer (basket 8).
