Section 1 (South) originally placed to understand pit 275 Section 2 (North) originally placed to understand courtyard surfaces Now: Reunited Section (combined) that makes up this context is 4 m x 2m N/S orientation and it’s the first combined context is 303, which is this hard-packed/prepared white clay surface that extends across much of the area of the exposed NW Courtyard not cut by pit (and Trench 3). Surface is hard-packed w/ relatively few inclusions and a moderate number of artifacts. Few pebbles, few cobbles, white plaster spalling, pottery and fauna. There are a few pockets of irregular stone contrations -- but no clear correlation with features. Just something to keep an eye on.
