Description:   Top slope of the context is level down to the S. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We excavated this fill in order to relate the stratigraphy to the south of the Turkish house (its exterior) to the interior of the house. This soil appears to be the same as 1005, but we decided to dig it as a separate context, because the soil went quite deep and Thanasis wanted to remove first the smaller contexts that surrounded it (1011 and 1012) before we proceeded with the excavation of the current context, so that we can have a better idea of the depth and the shape of this deposit.
The deposit included a coin, some glass and iron nails, as well as pottery and small tile fragments.
We stopped digging when we came down upon a very firm soil, probably yet another levelling fill. Thanasis discovered a hole just immediately south of the Turkish house, which was filled with the soil from the current context. The hole is near SE corner of the house. The hole might be related to the foundation trench for the walls of the house.
