Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the SW. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context is a possible levelling fill that runs NE-SW of the Turkish house. It surrounded the tile destruction later 1046, and 1011 and 1051 were laid on it on the east side. We started diggin this context in order to better understand the depositional activities in the area and the formation of the tile destruction layer just west of it. Top of 1051 and 1052 seem to be at approximately the same level.
The context yielded a small amount of pottery and tile. It was shallowin the center and deeper at each end, as the baulk at each end was initially higher up. After its removal, the deposit underneath seems to be quite level and comprises of a layer of tiles jumbled together in SW-NE direction. It is difficult to tell at present whether the tile e layer exposed after the removal of the current context is the same as 1046. This context separated the two adjacent tile layers by a very thin layer of soil, which might not be significant, and they might indeep be a part of the same dumpingevent. We will needto look at pottery from these contexts in order to be able to be certain.
