Description:   The soil color is white. The soil compaction is hard.
Notes:   This is the removal of the tile drain found with the removal of context 1024, structure number 1026. It has a tile base (each 29.5 x 27.5 x 3.5 cm) held in place by lime mortar. The sides are also built up with mortar and stones to form a squared trough (9x5x10.8 cm) The surface on which the mortar is laid is built up of chunks of paster and carbon. Very few tiny pottery sherds have been found mixed with the mortar.The northern edge of the drain was exposed probably during the Robinson excavation.
