Description: | The context shape in plan is rectrangular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is flat. Truncation: to N by 1970s excavation, to the S by wall 918..
Notes: | When 1121 was dug, we could see a thin black layer E and W in front of Wall 918, remains of its foundation trench. At the S end of this trench was a large stone projecting from beneath W918. This turns out to be the S. edge of the remains of the robbed wall. Does this mean that 918 was tehre before this wall was robbed? Or were the stones robbed from this trench reused to construct W918? The course at the base of this cut is going to be structure 1123. A martyra was kept to the NW of the cut to prevent contanimation from the 1970s exvacation area. This cut is parallel to another likely robbing trench about 1.5 m to the E, which is context 1124.
