Stratum: | Soil mixed: brown, red, grey. Sub-rounded stones, roughly 50% gravel inclusions; only 4 coarse ware sherds found on this context.
Description: | The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes: | This was the opening deposit of 2013 Season 3 by the White Team. This deposit was thus treated as a cleaning level below the topsoil between Walls 1137 and 1138. There was a thin pocket of reddish soil that might represent degraded mudbruck, possibly from the superstructure of Wall 1137 or 1138. 1139 abutted wall 1137, but its relationship with Wall 1138 was not clear during excavation.
