Description:   Structure materials: limestone. Material size: largest .6 x .4 x .25 m, smallest .2 x .1 x .1 m. Material finish: mixed. Material construction: random courses. Material bonding: mud. Features: chisel marks for squaring stones.
Notes:   This wall appears to be an internal corss wall which was built earlier than wall 1155 to the east. The hard-packed earth floor below context 1151 goes directly up against the base of this wall. No foundation trench was visible above this floor, so the floor and 1154 appear to be part of the same structure and were probably in use at the same time.
The bottom courses of the wall are roughly hewn, but the stones in the top surviving course are more squared with tool marks (parallel striations probably made by a chisel during squaring) visible on their top surfaces. The northern extent of the wall is lower in elevation and may have been partially robbed out.
20/6: Based on stratigraphy and the pottery readings from associated deposit 1151, this wall probably dates to the Early or Middle Roman period. Confirmation of this date would probably require excavation of 1154 and associated surface 1191.
