Title:   General fill north of pit (=B 71)
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1100
Context:   204
Page:   0
Date:   2007/06/05
Stratum:   Inclusions: 20% large cobbles, 10% small pebbles, 5% small white flecks
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. Bottom slope of the context is slight. The soil color is dark brownish white. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   B 204 is the removal of an irregularly shaped patch of soil that sits somewhat on the N-S wall and follows the edge of the pit (cut= B 71). We are hoping to expose a cobble layer as well as an ashy layer that seems to expand over a huge area of the excavation.
We are exposing some cobbles just east of the wall and north of the pit but mostly a dark brown soil is becoming apparent.
The cobbles in the northern edge of the basket seem to extend south.
It seems that we may have a bothros just north of the first pit. The small cobbles may circle it and the soil changes in the west of the basket.
