Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the NE. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the NEThe soil color is dark brownish red. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   B 220 is the removal of the soil which may or may not be over more of the western extent of the wall attached to the apse. There may also be a cross wall that was robbed out at some point. We are looking for both of these things. The soil here was left at a higher point because the wheel barrow ramp had been set up there so I am not sure that what we are digging is actually a separate context.
We are exposing stones of the wall now so they were not entirely robbed out. Thus far there is no sign of a cross wall or a robbing trench for such cross wall.
They may have been cut by the trench of B 73
