Notes: | We excavated this section of the wall in investigate whether or not this part of the wall was added later than the rest of the wall due to the insertion of the early modern water pipe. This would indicate that the rest of the wall predates the water pipe, which had to punch through it. The wall repair rested in top of a layer of cementy fill which appears to be very similar to 250. At this stage, the fill under the wall repair and the fill of 250 seems to be the same material and elevation, which would indicate that they are from the same deposit. Excavation of the fill under the wall repair should say for certain. | |
