Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm to loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   318 is a small pebbly patch of soil at the north end of wall 316. Just east of the southeast limit of 318, we can see a small patch of surface which ends on a line that seems to be the eastern side of the robbing trench for wall 316. The robbing trench line runs under 318. We are excavating 318 to find the robbing trench edges.
As we remove this fill, we do indeed come down on the eastern edge of the robbing trench. On the western edge, we come down on harder soil about 5cm above where we should find the cut. This harder soil continues south and will be excavated seperately.
