Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes: | The light yellowish brown sandy silt is firm and full of tile inclusions, as well as ceramic and pebbles. It is much like the soil that covered most of this area. We dig it now as it is necessary to see the relationships of the substantial area which is covered by the sandy silt. Upon excavation, it turns out that the soil does change in the middle of the context, prompting us to take out this layer with several deposits, though the change is slight. The tiles seen under 318 are removed with this context. It becomes clear that this soil overlies part of wall 316 and goes further west than first thought. A return of wall 316, running east-west, may be revealed, or perhaps a continuation of the robbing trench for wall 313.
