Context Type:   Fill
Title:   Silty fill east of wall 316
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1101
Context:   324
Page:   0
Date:   2008/05/22
Stratum:   30-40% ceramic, tile, subangular pebbles, some larger cobbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   The light greyish brown soil was soft and was directly underneath the clayey layer of 320. It has inclusions of tile, ceramic, subangular pebbles and some cobbles, but less clay than 320. There is, however, some clay mixed throughout, particularly to the south, next to robbing trench 319.
Lower down, we find several larger stones within the deposit.
We come down upon redder and darker soil that seems to be in line with where the east face of wall 316 would be.
