Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish black. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We open 336 to determine the relationship between this loose, boulder-rich fill with the harder fills to the E, W and S that lack boulder inclusions. We consider two possiblities: we wil find a true cut as we dig down in the softer fill (context 336), or , as we dig down we will see that the areas surrounding have this softer fill underneath a currently visible harder crust.
As Panos digs more boulders are revealed and removed. As we remove those boulders and loose fill, it becomes apparent that this same fill runs under the harder fills to the W and N. Also, as these fills on top are very thing, we expand our pass to the W and N, considering all of these fills to be part of the same deposit. It is still possible we may a pit, but if so, we have not found the true edges of its cut. Alternately, we may just have an expansive and thick layer of fill.
28/5/2008: It became clear that we do have some sort of pit activity going on here. So, we aribitarily closed 336 and began taking this deposit in a new context, 338.
