Name:   Nezi Field, context 341
Area:   Nezi Field
Context Type:   Fill
Title:   Fill at corner of 334 and 335
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1101
Context:   341
Page:   0
Date:   2008/05/27
Stratum:   40% sub-angular boulders, bone, pebbles, ceramics, tile
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   341 appears to be the fill beneath floor 339. The light yellowish brown soil is firm and has more inclusions, including bones, ceramics, tile, and boulders up to 20x15x10cm, perhaps from the dismantling of par of wall 335, which borders 341 to the N. The fill runs up to the portion (str 347) revealed under 339 but not over it. As the color and matrix of 339 was the same, and ran over this section of 334, which is flat, I consider 339 and 341 part of the same construction operation. However, the soil resting directly upon str 347 is lighter and softer than 339/341, perhaps packing for the wall.
At the SW corner of this deposit a yellowish clay floor patch is revealed running up to the S face of the wall 347.
