Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greenish yellow. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   We open 381 because we believe, after some light scraping, that the red clayey floor we excavated on 30/5/2008 may continue to the S, just under the hard, more yellow, less clayey fill inside the line of robbing trench 304.
Once Panos begins, it becomes clear that the rere was only the tiniest bit of this floor surface remaining. WE decide this is not worth excavating as a separate context, since we have the pottery from under this red floor already, and this newly found stretch is literally only cenitmeters in area.
So, we go ahead and remove this tny patch, toss the pottery (which was just one coarseware sherd), and now consider context 381 to be all the hard greyish yellow fill inside of cut 304.
Our working theory as of now is that this hard, greyish yellow fill is erosional deposit that washed downhill and partially filled cut 304, and that context 303, a softer, darker, less clayey fill, was deposited intentionally at a later time into the robbing trench, to finish filling the cut up to ground level.
As Panos diges, he reveals what seems to be more wall superstructure of wall 305, but this does not extend all the way E. At this point, we no longer have a recognizable cut for a robbing trench. So, even though we believe more of wall 305, either superstructure or foundation, lies further to the E along the line of the robbing trench, we close, because we do not think it best to dig down further, as the soil above the wall is part of a larger fill deposit to the N.
