Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is stongly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes: | 416 is a soft dark greyish brown sandy clay with inclusions of tile, ceramics, quite a lot of carbon, subrounded pebbles and 1 bone. It is the topmost layer of an oval pit running partly into wall 420. When the top layer is removed 2 layers are exposed: a soft brown layer around all edges of the pit but the S, and a yellowish grey layer that is much harder, projecting from the S edge 3/4 of the way to the N edge - extending beyond the width of the wall.
