Description:   Structure materials: limestone blocks. Material size: 0.25x 0.37x 0.14 - 0.18x 0.08x 0.12. Material finish: roughly hewn. Material construction: irregular coursed. Material bonding: none. Features: none.
Notes:   Structure 495 is a built well. The structure number is assigned to the topmost course of stone preserved in situ and is implied since the rest of the structure is not yet excavated. Because it has been decided not to excavate the fill of the well this season, it is not possible to determine the full extent of the structure and its bottom elevation. The top elevation of 85.97 represents the first preserved course but the elevation of the cut 493 at 86.77 and the large blocks recovered from the deposit 494, which represents the collapse of the uper courses of the well, both indicate that the structure 495 likely had a minimum height of 1.08 m. The blocks of the first preserved course are large roughly hewn irregular blocks of limestone, likely in secondary use. Also recovered from deposit 494 was a limestone basin or footing and a marble capital recut for use as a threshold.
