Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the N. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   We excavated this layer trying to figure out what the function of the stones above it (5178) was and what surface it rests on, whether floor or fill.
Since this layer of dark humus increased in depth from a few centimeters in the south to the scarp in the N where plants were growing we believe it to be a natural layer which developed under the course of stones 5178. Underneath was also revealed a series of stones running approximately along the NS wall line between the two large blocks. Later we interpreted this as a lintel or doorstop #5193.
