| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand. | |
| Notes: | We start taking context 5266, which is defined as being a layer of more compact surface which seems to overlies a looser fill with more inclusions. As this is taken, we come down onto a surface which is redder. To the south is a softer soil with many inclusions. It appears that the redder surface overlies th fill of debris at the southwest. The pile of tile at the southeast seems as if it is sitting on the redder surface. Therefore, this will be taken next to explore the relationship of the pil of horizontally broken tiles to the surface and how the tile pile relates to the fill of debris to the west. There is no chance that these may be the same. At the northwest end of the area, there is a patch of foster soil which looks similar to the rest, except for its compaction. This may be an erosional deposit. It is north of 1022.55N and west of 264. There are also flecks of charcoal mixed in with the debris, about 0.01 cubic meters. | |
