Wall 5285 is a later phase of wall built on Wall 5411. This is made evident by the fact that a floor of plaster and clay (see Structure 5415) contines beneath Wall 5285, separating it from 5411. Wall 5285 consists of one large rectangular block laid upon what was perhaps the doorway of 5411 because to the east the elevation of 5411 rises and extends even higher than 5285. To the east of the large rectangular block (1.00 by 0.55 and 0.35) numerous smaller spherical and tabular cobbles have been added to connect the block to the higher portions of 5411 further east. This structure will be excavated so that we can excavate the floor that is beneath it and extending south.
Also worth mention: a hole on top of 5411 and below 5285 coul be a doorjam. Further west on 5411 and of 5285, another hole looks like a doorjam. This suggests further that 5285 was placed on a doorway. If the materials removed while excavating 5285 can establish a firm date, it will also provided a terminus ante quam for Wall 5411 and perhaps the floor beneath it.
The large block is removed. It has much clay and plaster still stuck to its bottom. We scrape it into a box for sieving. The soil beneath is a mixture of white and yellowish clay with dark reddish brown sandy silt. The clay is hard; the silt is soft. Inclusions are pebbles and tile. Also, we remove cobbles that belong to this wall. The floor beneath the large rectangular block is now exposed. A sizeable refined stone sticks out from the west exposed face of Wall 5411. After scraping with the trowel, we find that it is only connected to 5411 by shallow soil and that it belongs to Wall 5285. It is removed. The floor continues to the east where we remove the cobbles wedged between Wall 5411 and the large rectangular block of Wall 5285.
Also worthy of note: when the rectangular block was removed, a small piece of red plaster was still attached to it or at least wedged in the soil attached to it.
