Stratum:   10% some pottery, pebbles (various sizes)
Description:   The soil color is dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   In order to better define the line of the rubble wall that runs northward from the southwest corner of the courtyard, we performed a small archaeological cleaning operation along the western face of this wall where there are four stones that lie out of line with the wall (immediately northwest of context 5296). These stones were removed along with the soil around them in order to better reveal the western face of the southern half of this rubble wall. Roughly 10 cm of soil was removed as well as 5-6 large cobbles and the revealed western face of the rubble wall continues in a slight curve westward from its northern half. Unfortunately, we have no top or bottom elevations for this cleaning operation.
