Earlier referred to as W26.
Most of the construction is cobbles on potato stones, with tiles on top of that as bedding for large limestones (where they survive). In the west the construction is a little different because one of the limestones on the south is vertical, but cobbles on the north face and the placement of the mud plastering makes it clear that the west part belongs to the same phase as the east at this point.
The drain walls are attached with concrete to this wall and therefore date later.
W5346 goes over the north face of this wall and is therefore later - at least the north part of W5346 is later.
The wall uses at least one earlier (unnumbered) wall as part of its foundation (the foundation trench does not go below these stones, but the wall is built on them). There are pink bedrock stones underneath the cobbles and within the foundation trench but they do not go to the very bottom of the foundation trench. To the north of this wall was found a N-S wall of the same phase as the pink-stone wall.
Probably also belonging to this earlier wall but maybe another structure and also used for foundation are ashlars in the east. The westernmost one may have been put in place when the wall was being built. However, the southeasternmost one must date before the foundation trench because the cut of the foundation trench does not encompass its south side.
