Stratum:   pebbles, small cobbles, tile and pottery 30% incluisions
Description:   Top slope of the context is steep down to the S. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We open this context, 5459, to remove what we believe to be a wheelbarrow ramp used in the 1960's excavations, and made from fill of unknown provenance.
Our pickman Bill takes a pass, removing this dark reddish fill. He comes down on a lighter, yellower soil with more jumbled (poorly sorted) inclusions, so we close and change contexts, even though we think this new context is still part of the 1960's excavation activity. The bottom elevation varies, because of the steep southward slope. It is 84.80 at the S, 84.94 at the N extreme.
