Deposit 5536 is a patch of floor left as a martyr from Excavations in 196- . References to the uncovering of the floor have been located in NB 229, p.---, though no discussion of the removal of the rest of the surface has been located yet. To the south the floor is cut by robbing trench 5511. Due to previous excavations, neither the northern nor the eastern extents of the deposit are known. To the west, the floor is cut by the robbing trench 5510, which is interpreted as an operation to harvest stones from the N-S Wal 71. Removal of the floor surface revealed more of the level stroma on which the tiley floor revealed by the cleaning pass 5501 rested. This contiues under wall 55---.
