Description:   Top slope of the context is slight. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We are excavating this floor because it's next. We can see some of the floor below (5749) already and can see that it's different because it has more ash and charcoal in it. Excavation of 5733 revealed that this lower floor (5749) does not have a clear western boundary but ends irregularly in the miiddle of the room. Embedded in the lower floor we can see the top of an intact, nearly complete vessel (rim broken off, but neck and body preserved). Also partially exposed by 5733 and going under 5749 is a possible foundation trench for wall 5403. We will dig 5749 next to see if there is more of the trench and to see if the possible whole vessel is sitting in the trench cut. The context also exposed the top of a stone 0.27 x 0.37 m (drawn on top plan of 5749) that may turn out to be part of a wall.
