Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is dark reddish black. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit 5868 is a hard packed dirt floor with some pebbles in Quadran B of the courtyard under the clay surface 5861. This surface is much darker and harder than 5861 and has many tile inclusions. 5868 appears to be sorted with the tiles below (not visible from the surface) and pebbles and pottery above. This deposit may have been used as part of a leveling operation. With the excavation of 588 we continue to look for the foundation trench for wall 5741, which was revealed after sweeping and will be dug in 5873.
