Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This is the second highest floor bounded by walls 5519, 5483, 5484, and probably 5284. We are excavating it to date the floor. The floor is very thin and in places worn down to the ashy layer below, especially next to robbing trench 5506. We suspect that the doorway to this room was through what is now robbing trench 5506. The bottom of robbing trench 5506 is about 0.08 m below our floor (5877) and ma be a threshold in use with an earlier floor.
Revised 12.6.08 ACF: Coin 2008-248 was securely embedded in the floor revealed by this layer and should be taken as part of that earlier (lower) floor, but we will not be excavating the lower floor this season.
