| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | Deposit context 591 was a lens of fill of drain 426 which extended from cut 272 (cut for robbing trench of 19th century boundary wall) south inside the drain. The deposit extended southwards to circa 50 cm north of the southernmost preserved stone. The deposit is in alignment with preserved portions of the drain. South of the northernmost stone is light grey clay which is similar to the grey clay on the section of the drain located north of cut 272 (cut for 19th century wall). This deposit 591 revealed light blondish/ reddish soil. We are still unclear whether this deposit 591 was backfill or sediment from the drain.. | |
