| Notes: | This wall was discovered during the removal of wall 5553. Excavation cannot go forward until permission is obtained from the ephoria. Record emended by Kiersten Spongberg and Mark Hammond 28 April 2009. It has since been determined, after a cleaning (6170) that the wall previously labeled 5965 actually consists of two separate structures. From now on the more northern wall will continue to be referred to as 5965, however the second piece of wall to the south will be labeled 6172. Wall 5965 seems to lean against 6172 and therefore seems to be later, and will be excavated first. New coordinates were taken after it was determined that we have two separate walls. It should also be noted that when 5965 was built, it may have disturbed an earlier foundation (6171). | |
