| Notes: | Context 6077 is a leveling fill located in the southeastern portion of the room north of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. Goes into doorway and stops when it cuts into floor surface in courtyard. Necessary to remove this context in order to excavate floor surface in courtyard. Associated cut is 6078. Context 6077 is fairly deep fill.reSoil is dark yellowish brown clayey silt with 30% inclusions (ceramic sherds, stones). Removal of context 6077 revealed another fill surface below. Dating context 6077 will help with understanding construction in this room and its relationship to the courtyard. Revealed floor surface in western section of context 6077 very rocky, appears to represent another fill. Context 6077 possibly related to surface in same room on eastern side of wall 6016. This context labeled as 6090. Last part of context 6077 removed revealed a partially intact vessel in doorway at southeast corner of context bordering context 6086. Its coordinates are 269.08E, 1035.07N, 84.44H. Now believed to be part of context 6084. | |
