Description:   The soil color is dark greyish black. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We are excavating deposit 6136 separately from fill 6132 because the ash content is much more dramatic and seems to be laid on a fill that is very similar to 6132. at first we thought we could remove all of the soil overlaying the ash before excavating the ash but that proved impossible so soil from leveling fill 6131 may have contaminated the ash. Because fill 6136 contained similar inclusions to the fill to the W (6132) we hypothesized that the ashy fill represents rubbish dumped in the corner of the room which then spread across the fill when it was being leveled to accommodate floor 6124/6127.
