| Stratum: | The soil was a compact sandy silt, possibly compact from being walked upon, with inclusions between 5 and 10% of pebbles, pottery, bone, tile fragments, carbon flecks, and plaster flecks. | |
| Description: | The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | We are excavating a cleaning context [6146] on the north side of wall 5552. After excavating 6140, it was noted that there was a greenish white layer of clay further beneath it and a corresponding stratigraphy was noted beneath 6146. A cleaning was done to see if the soil above the clay layer was the same reddish soil as 6140. When the red layer (6152) was reached, context 6146 was closed. Although the soil was compact, this is likely due to it having been walked upon and packed down. | |
