Description:   The soil color is light pinkish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We've been clarifying relationships between floors, fills, and cuts in this area. 6080, excavated in session 1, revealed a cut in the west-facing section of pier cut 6065. Therefore, it was presumed that the floor that was being excavated during context 6080 was actually excavated out of turn, and that the softer fill of the cut should actually be excavated next. However, cleaning basket 6442 revealed that there were actually portions of harder floor still on top of that cut- and that these portions of floor actually overlaid a secton cut, located further east. Consequently, this context is working westward from wall 10085, removing one surface; and then most likely revealing a secon floor, and an outline of a cut into that floor.
This proved to be the case, with the cut following a line of what appeared to be a disturbance from large root systems nearby. Additionally, another cut was noticed, ostensibly running east-west along wall 6426. The dirt was softer there, and may represent foundation trench fill that goes together with section 6267 [fill 6079] that was excavated further west. Their elevations are close and make this relationship a possibility.
