Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   Context 6752 is a large dumped fill of tile and stone along the northern half of the room west of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. It is truncated to the south by robbing trench cut 6720 and in the north by pit 6583 (cut 6655). Context 6752 continues beneath wall 5725 and should also be present in the room northwest of the courtyard. The fill contains approximately 70% inclusions most of which are large stones and tile fragments. The soil is dark yellowish brown silty clay with stone, tile, bone, and root inclusions.
The removal of context 6752 revealed more of a hard reddish surface which was first identified at the bottom of pit 6583. This surface may represent slumped mudbrick. If context 6752 is a large dumped fill it may have been deposited after the abandonment of the structure associated with wall 6738. Context 6752 it abuts directly against the north face of wall 6438. Abutting up against wall 5724 a fragmentary marble head from a small statue (E. 261.41; N. 1032.85; H. 83.25). A coin, 2010-030, also turned up, followed by a second the morning of 16/04/10. Excavation of this context continued into the morning of 16/04/10. In the northeast part of the room a mound of tile and stone-laden fill was decided to be part of a separate dumping episode since the soil is much redder than context 6752.
In the southeast corner the removal of 6752 did not produce evidence of more large stones associated with structure 6738.
